For years, it has been drilled into us to correctly sort our glass bottles, recycable plastics and green and garden waste. We separate them into their dedicated bins or bags, or plan a trip to the recycling centre. But we are much less disciplined when it comes to batteries. We tend to leave them lying around, or worse, throw them in the rubbish bin.
